Course info
The 2nd cycle degree course in Energetic and Nuclear Engineering aims at training specialist engineers with competences in the field of design, planning and management of systems for the transformation of all forms of energy, with respect to traditional as well as to renewable and nuclear sources. Graduates of this course may work in the field of private practice, as well as of industrial production and public administrations. The course aims at maintaining the high cultural qualification of the degree in industrial engineering obtained with the former system (5 year course), making the best to keep the real length of studies equal to the normal duration of the degree course, The educational programme is characterised by a broad spectrum core education, investigating the technical and scientific aspects related to industrial engineering subjects as well as to specific energy and nuclear engineering subjects. Graduates of this course will: 1) master calculus, physics and other core sciences, including numerical methods for engineering. and be able to use this knowledge to interpret and describe complex engineering problems, including problems requiring an interdisciplinary approach: 2) master and apply engineering techniques, with respect in particular to energy and nuclear engineering; 3) design and manage complex and/or innovative systems, processes and services; 4) Design and run high complexity experiments and numerical simulations. They will also possess adequate language and communication skills.
Graduates of this course may find professional opportunities in: - Public and private companies providing energy services at large (electric and thermal energy, combustibles, full plants, financial services for energy, environmental impact analysis); - Public administration; - Small-medium and large companies in the field of energy and of energy plants components; - Research centres.
The Board of the Degree Course approved the new regulations for the final examinations on 13/02/2013.
