At the centre of the training course there is the construction of social capital and the management of relationships within community organizations, with particular reference to the prevention and support in the various forms of integration and development of individuals, groups and communities. Basic knowledge is related not only to the pedagogical, teaching-methodological, philosophical, psychological, sociological and anthropological disciplines, but finds its natural development within the application in both geographical and economic contexts and a method for integrating learning and skills with respect to the planning in community work: construction of community profiles, organizational maps of the individual – community- context relationship. The labour market will be a constant point of reference with respect to the the social demand for skills in the areas of Area Plans and in application of the Law 328/ 00 . Students, through training activities and internships in social enterprises, can directly experience the observation of the issues and skills needed to develop a professional identity. Problem solving methodologies and case studies will be used in order to develop knowledge and professional skills or to continue the studies through the 2nd cycle degree courses. 12 credits are awarded to elective activities. The degree in " Community Education " prepares students to the design, management, monitoring and evaluation of specific community interventions related to training interventions, to the building of social capital, social management of educational relationships (social learning, integrated training systems for the society, training for participate planning). Specifically aimed at those who wish to get involved in social educational work, in Juvenile communities, in street education, peer education and in the educational work within the penal institutions, in rehabilitation and care contexts, in facilities for immigrants, in intercultural projects, in the prevention of marginalization and crime and in prevention structures . The Degree course takes the social pedagogy and the methods of action research in the field of education as central in the psycho-pedagogical educational programme. The course aims to train experts in educational theory and practice with technical skills in the field of social intervention in public and private communities, and in private social services. It will be essential to this end to develop in students the ability to work with groups and in groups and to act at various levels of autonomy.

To obtain the degree, students must have acquired 180 credits including those relating to the final examination (6 credits). The final test has the objective of assessing the level of maturity and critical skills of the undergraduate, with respect to learning and to the acquired knowledge, on completion of the activities provided by the course syllabus. The final examination consists of a written or oral test, in accordance with the rules fixed every year by the Degree Course Regulations for the final examination, respecting and consistent to the calendar, the ministerial requirements and to the relevant Guidelines of the University.
