The complexity of the evolutive path, the historical and cultural conditions affecting it, the operationalisation of theoretical frameworks in interventions on individuals/couples/families/peers, the study of personal and social transitions in the various moments of life are the focus of the 2nd cycle degree course in “Life-span Clinical Psychology”.
The educational programme includes 12 examinations, 10 of which mandatory and two elective, each of which is awarded 3 to 9 credits.
Single teachings are distributed in the two years of course in order to place:
- At the 1st year, the ones related to the extension and strengthening of core competences and o the critical study of specific psychological issues;
- At the 2nd year courses aiming at the acquisition of critical and advanced competences, as well as of tools and methods for the psychological evaluation and intervention in various ambits of child and adolescent development.
Students will acquire:
- Advanced competences in Psychometrics, Development and education Psychology, Dynamic Psychology and Clinical Psychology , through class-specific educational activities;
- Competences useful to complete their professional profile with the epistemological bases of the most important and up-to-date theoretical constructs of life-span Psychology (in the fields of General Psychology, Child Neuropsychiatry, Sociology of Cultural and Communication Processes, Legal Sociology, and Sociology of Deviance and Social Change), and to guide their educational curriculum towards the labour market needs, through further related and integrative educational activities.
All mandatory courses provide for laboratory activities in order to enable students to apply their knowledge and understanding in the various relevant professional ambits. Elective educational activities will be awarded with 12 credits.
The 2nd cycle Degree Course in “Life-span Clinical Psychology” aims at the enlargement and strengthening of students’ knowledge and understanding of psychological subjects.
The course will provide for further knowledge and for methodological as well as technical tools which are needed to design:
- Clinical interventions upon the whole life cycle;
- Interventions towards individuals, couples, families and groups with respect to cognitive, behavioural and emotional-affective issues.
